MAP 2911

The cartographer couldn't believe her eyes. What a fortunate find.

Map 2911 had been gone from the index list for as long as she'd been a cartographer. She couldn't wait to spread it on a flat surface to scrutinise it. For one, it was famously talked about.

With a careful hand she unraveled the worn ribbon that held it together. Wow, ah, I see, hmm, ‘goodness gracious me’ expressions flowed as she observed the fine lines of the map, connections, stopovers, detours, encampments, down valleys, up mounts, plains, wells and transit stops, new paths, through gardens, dusty roads and many more landmarks and courses, expected and surprising.

What astonished her about Map 2911 was that no matter where the paths took with its twists and turns, it always ended well, a future and a hope guaranteed.
